Vaporesso’s GTi coils are the standard replacement mesh coil across several of their most popular tanks and kits. If your flavor’s faded or your device is due for a fresh coil, here’s what you need to know before you pick a resistance.
Which Devices Is This Compatible With?
GTi coils fit the Vaporesso iTank, iTank 2, iTank T, Armour S, Armour Max, Armour Ultra, GEN SE, GEN Max, GEN 80S, GEN 200, and the full Target series (80, 100, 200). If your device isn’t listed here, check your tank’s model number before ordering, since Vaporesso’s GTX coils use a different design and are not interchangeable with GTi.
Choose Your Resistance
0.15Ω
Best at 75-90W. Highest vapor and cloud output, suited to experienced DTL vapers running higher wattage.
0.2Ω
Best at 60-75W. A strong middle ground between vapor production and e-liquid efficiency.
0.4Ω
Best at 50-60W. Milder vapor output with better flavor clarity at lower power.
Why Mesh Coils Matter
GTi coils use a mesh heating element rather than traditional round wire, which heats more evenly across a larger surface area. In practice, that means faster ramp-up, fuller flavor, and less of the dry, uneven hits you get from worn wire coils. The press-fit design also means installation is a straightforward pop-in, pop-out, no threading or tools required.
How Long Do These Coils Last?
Most users get 5 to 6 tank refills, or roughly one to two weeks of daily use, before flavor starts to fade. Heavy vapers running higher wattages may need to replace theirs weekly, while lighter users can often stretch a coil closer to two to three weeks.
Getting the Best Out of a New Coil
- Fill the tank fully before your first puff
- Let the coil sit for 5 to 10 minutes to saturate before firing
- Start at the lower end of the coil’s rated wattage and work up
- Pair with high-VG e-liquid (70%+), which suits this coil’s DTL design better than nic salts
Frequently Asked Questions
What devices are Vaporesso GTi coils compatible with?
GTi coils fit the iTank series, Armour series (S, Max, Ultra), GEN series (SE, Max, 80S, 200), and the Target series (80, 100, 200).
What’s the difference between GTX and GTi coils?
They use different physical designs and are not interchangeable. GTX coils fit devices like the LUXE XR Max and Target PM80, while GTi coils fit the iTank, Armour, and GEN series listed above. Using the wrong coil type won’t seat properly and can damage your device.
How often should I replace a GTi coil?
Most users replace theirs every one to two weeks with daily use, though this varies with wattage and how often you vape.
Which resistance should I choose?
Lower resistance (0.15Ω) gives more vapor at higher wattage, while higher resistance (0.4Ω) runs cooler with a milder draw. If you’re unsure, 0.2Ω is a solid middle ground for most DTL vapers.
